Project/Program Name:  Heavy Vehicle Collision Avoidance
Description:  Integration of radar, electromagnetic (eddy current) drive shaft retarders, sensitivity controls, sensors.
Owner:  Soterea, Inc
Stakeholder Agencies/Departments:  Soterea, Heavy Duty Electric Brake, Inc, Triple A Trucking
Involvement:   CPMG was initially contracted to provide project estimation, project management, project scheduling and project controls support for productization of a new collision warning system.  This was soon expanded to include system engineering, mathematical modeling, electronic interface and software design, prototype fabrication and quality assurance, in the role of Chief System Engineer (as Independent Consultant)

Notable Challenges:  resource and budget constraints, new technology, lack of knowledgeable and experienced staff
Results Achieved:  Developed a revolutionary collision avoidance system that is immune to brake fade after long downhill runs.  Successfully tested the system on an 80,000 lb dump truck.  Patent pending.
Critical Actions:  Mentored and assisted faltering client staff with system engineering, interface and software design and prototype fabrication support; identified opportunities for innovation and improvement, led implementation.
Period of Involvement:  2014 - 2015
